Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto, the presidential candidate number two, said that Indonesia has a great future if all elements are able to unite and work together. He expressed this when visiting the Fellowship of Indonesian Churches (PGI) in Jakarta on Friday (19/1).
Prabowo came to the event accompanied by former senior PDIP politician Maruarar Sirait and several other figures such as Partai Gerindra politician Fary Djemy Francis and Deputy Chairman of the PSI Advisory Council Grace Natalie.
“Our future is great, we can become a prosperous country on the condition that we must be harmonious, united, and must work together, understand each other,” he said.
In front of the leaders and members of PGI, Prabowo reminded them to be grateful for the current conditions of the nation. Because, many other countries are in conflict, civil wars are happening, and their economies are collapsing.
“We must be grateful that as a nation, we are now in the condition that we are experiencing. If we look at the world around us, in our region, there are so many wars,” he said.
Prabowo then gave the example of the ongoing war in Ukraine which has caused the prices of food and fuel to soar in several countries. However, Indonesia has been able to withstand global crises, including the Covid-19 pandemic.
“As a result of the war in Ukraine, world fuel prices rise, food prices rise, and fertilizer becomes scarce, hundreds of countries are affected economically. Let’s examine ourselves and our surroundings,” he added.
“We are able to overcome extraordinary crises, the Covid pandemic also causes tension in the world, (but) our economy is still under control,” Prabowo continued.
Therefore, he emphasized the importance of hard work from all parties in creating a better fate for the people. With good political will, he said, it will push Indonesia to become a successful country in the world.
“If we can do that, be optimistic and work hard, invite everyone to work together to improve the fate of our people. Let’s prove that our wealth is extraordinary with good political will. Indonesia will truly become a success story in this world,” he said. (SENOPATI)
