Bandung – Candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto revealed that since a young age, he had sworn to be ready to die for the nation and people of Indonesia.
“Ladies and gentlemen, since the age of 18, I have pledged to be ready to die for the nation and people of Indonesia,” he said in front of tens of thousands of citizens at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GLBA) Stadium in Bandung City on Thursday (8/2).
During his struggle, he said that he had faced death several times and had recited the two declarations of faith, as taught by the Islamic scholars.
“Ladies and gentlemen, my Islamic scholars taught me that, Prabowo, as a Muslim, before you take your last breath, you must recite the two declarations of faith,” he said.
“And I have recited the two declarations of faith three times in my life because I thought, I was being called by God,” he explained.
However, he said that God had still given him a chance. Until now, he can still fight in the 2024 presidential election together with Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
“But it turns out that God still gives me breath, still gives me strength, still gives me health. This means that I must fulfill my duty to the nation and people of Indonesia,” he said.
“And now, after I have laid down my life for this republic for decades, I am not willing to see there are still poor people in Indonesia, I am not willing,” he continued. (SENOPATI)
