Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto, the President-elect of Indonesia for the term 2024-2029, has revealed that he is currently focused on getting ready for the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential inauguration scheduled for October 20, 2024.
His preparations involve studying the various issues that Indonesia is facing and engaging in discussions with all key stakeholders to develop strategic plans for the country’s progress.
This proactive approach is aimed at ensuring that he can hit the ground running immediately after the inauguration, without any delay.
During a speech at the halal bihalal event of the Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) in Jakarta on Sunday afternoon (28/4), Prabowo stated, “We are analyzing the problems, consulting with experts, and engaging with all parties so that when the mandate is transferred on October 20, there will be no lag or wasted time.”
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude towards President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for his assistance and guidance throughout the preparation process. He noted that their relationship has grown stronger, with Jokowi now referring to him more informally as ‘Mas Bowo’ instead of ‘Menhan’ (Minister of Defense).
“I want to acknowledge how much Pak Joko Widodo has helped me and my team. He is a very meticulous person. Even now, he continues to support and guide me, and I feel well-prepared. Previously, he used to call me ‘Menhan,’ but now we have a closer relationship, with him calling me ‘Mas Bowo’,” Prabowo shared.
Furthermore, Prabowo revealed that one of the ways Jokowi has prepared him is by instructing him to make official visits to several countries. In early April 2024, Prabowo visited China and Japan, with plans to visit the Middle East as per Jokowi’s directives.
