Prabowo Subianto, who was elected as the President of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period, stated that he is currently focused on preparing himself for the inauguration as the president on October 20, 2024.
His preparations include studying the issues faced by the nation and holding discussions with all parties to formulate strategic steps to build Indonesia. These steps are taken so that he can start working immediately after the inauguration, without wasting any time.
“We study the issues, gather experts, and discuss with all parties so that we can formulate steps so that on October 20, when the mandate is handed over, there will be no vacuum, no wasted time,” said Prabowo in his speech at the halalbihalal event of the Nahdlatul Ulama Central Board (PBNU) at the PBNU office in Jakarta on Sunday (28/4) afternoon.
Prabowo admitted that during the preparation process, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has been very helpful and attentive to him. Their relationship has become closer. For example, Jokowi often used to call Prabowo ‘Menhan’ (Minister of Defense). However, now it has changed to ‘Mas Bowo’.
“I have to say here, how much President Joko Widodo has prepared me, my brothers and sisters. He is a very meticulous person. He is very meticulous,” said Prabowo.
“Until now, he still pays attention to me and I feel very well prepared. Before, I was still called ‘Menhan’, now it’s more familiar, ‘Mas Bowo’,” he continued.
Prabowo also mentioned that one form of preparation and attention from Jokowi was when he received instructions to make courtesy visits to several countries.
In early April 2024, Prabowo visited China and Japan. After that, Prabowo also plans to visit the Middle East, as directed by President Jokowi.
