Prabowo Subianto, President-elect for the 2024-2029 term and Minister of Defense of Indonesia, had a packed schedule from Friday (31/5) to Monday with various activities.

On Friday and Saturday, Prabowo traveled to Singapore to participate in the IISS Shangri-la Dialogue, an international forum attended by leaders and defense ministers from different countries. Upon arriving in Singapore on Friday afternoon, he attended the Gala Dinner at the event, where he had meetings with officials like US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Timor Leste President Ramos Horta.

The following morning, Prabowo met with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at the Istana before heading to the Shangri-La Hotel for the IISS Shangri-la Dialogue. He also held a bilateral meeting with Lloyd Austin and later delivered a speech at the forum, discussing Indonesia’s assistance efforts in Gaza and readiness to provide peacekeeping troops if required by the UN.

After his speech, Prabowo engaged in bilateral meetings with officials like Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren, Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He then returned to Indonesia on Sunday morning and visited Yogyakarta, where he addressed Military Basic Education Scholars and Cadets at the Military Academy and inspected educational facilities at SMA Taruna Nusantara.

On Monday, Prabowo inspected the installation of clean water pipes in Kalurahan Banyusoco, Playen, Gunungkidul, as part of assistance provided by the Ministry of Defense and the Defense University to communities facing a clean water crisis. He emphasized the positive impact of the assistance on the community’s ability to harvest crops and later returned to Jakarta for work at the Ministry of Defense and meetings with guests, such as the Ambassador of New Zealand Kevin Burnett.
