Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto, the President-elect of Indonesia for the term 2024-2029, wasted no time in getting back to work just a week after undergoing successful surgery for a leg injury. Prabowo made an appearance at the 78th anniversary of Bhayangkara held at Monas, Jakarta on Monday (July 1), which was officiated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and attended by the public, ministers from the Indonesia Maju Cabinet, ambassadors from various countries, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), his staff, and retired members of the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
Wearing a gray suit, Prabowo was warmly welcomed by Jokowi at the start of the event. He stood tall and saluted, earning applause from the audience.
On Sunday (June 30), Prabowo shared on his personal Instagram account @prabowo about the success of his surgery.
“With the grace of God and my restored health, I am more determined than ever to serve and devote myself to the country and the people of Indonesia. I am grateful to everyone for their prayers and support,” Prabowo stated.
The injury he suffered was a result of two parachute accidents during his time in the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).
Prabowo expressed his gratitude to Allah SWT and the medical team at the National Defense Central Hospital (RSPPN) Panglima Besar Soedirman, Bintaro, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, for their care.
“I understand the risks and potential dangers of the medical procedure I underwent. However, I reassure myself that it was all for the sake of our country and nation. I have full confidence in the skill and professionalism of the medical team and all personnel involved,” he affirmed.
He also thanked Jokowi for his support during the surgical process.
“Special thanks to President Jokowi for his moral support and prayers.”
