Jakarta – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto gave guidance to cadet officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) at Balai Sudirman, South Jakarta, on Friday (12/7).
In front of 906 cadets, including 417 from the Army, 129 from the Navy, 113 from the Air Force, and 247 from the Police, Prabowo emphasized that being a TNI or Polri officer is a noble calling.
“I want to remind you that the profession you have chosen requires great sacrifices and a strong commitment that involves both your spirit and your physical strength,” said Prabowo.
He then urged all the cadets who will graduate to always protect Indonesia.
“The destiny of the nation and its people depends on you. You have been chosen, trained, and shaped so that when the time comes, you must defend your homeland,” Prabowo advised.
The future President for 2024-2029 also reminded the cadets about the national objectives outlined in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution.
“Our national aim, as explained in the preamble of our Constitution, is very clear and direct: to safeguard the entire Indonesian nation,” Prabowo stated.
“Firstly to protect, then to improve welfare, followed by educating the people. What is the use of constructing skyscrapers, airports, railways, and dams if our country is not secure, safe, and protected?” he added.
