France – A heartwarming moment was captured when Indonesian Defense Minister and president-elect Prabowo Subianto attended a pencak silat exhibition in Paris, France, on Saturday (27/07).
During the event, he had a delightful encounter with Indonesian badminton legend Greysia Polii. Prabowo was visibly pleased as he chatted with Greysia, who was accompanied by her husband, Felix Djimin, and their daughter, Jessia Selah Djimin.
“What’s your name?” Prabowo inquired, while holding Jessia’s hand, who was being carried by Felix.
“Her name is Jessia,” Greysia and Felix introduced their daughter, who is not yet two years old.
The brief yet warm interaction concluded with a photo session. “May we take a photo, Sir?” Greysia requested.
“Sure, sure,” Prabowo enthusiastically agreed.
The pencak silat demonstration was a highlight of the exhibition, aimed at promoting global awareness of this traditional Indonesian martial art.
As the Chairman of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (PB IPSI) for the 2021-2025 term, Prabowo is committed to promoting pencak silat as an Olympic sport.
