Suryo Prabowo, a highly intelligent and patriotic individual, has been known to Prabowo Subianto since their time as cadets at the Armed Forces Academy (AKABRI). Graduating in 1976, Suryo Prabowo was recognized as the highest achieving cadet by the Academy, receiving the Adhi Makayasa award. His dedication to duty was evident as he progressed through the ranks from lieutenant to captain to major. Even as a Brigadier General, he remained in the field during critical moments, such as his time as Deputy Governor in East Timor and Deputy Commander of East Timor Military Resort Command.
Despite his exceptional intelligence and leadership qualities, Suryo Prabowo often faced criticism from his superiors for being too dynamic and creative. Known for his straightforward nature and courage, he was viewed as a knowledgeable and insightful leader who was driven to improve the Armed Forces organization.
Both Prabowo Subianto and Suryo Prabowo were greatly influenced by the ’45 generation of generals, considering it the greatest generation in Indonesian history. They shared a strong bond based on their shared ideals and love for their country, instilled in them by the values of the ’45 generation.
