Hambalang — President-elect Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of loyalty to the people and the Indonesian nation for Gerindra Party members who were elected to the House of Representatives (DPR). He delivered this message during a briefing at the Garuda Yaksa Hall in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday (September 23).
Prabowo expressed his gratitude to party members for their loyalty and reminded them that serving and working for the people is the right path. He emphasized the need to stand tall and remain loyal to the people and the nation.
He made it clear that loyalty should be directed towards the people, not towards him personally. He gave them the freedom to leave if they ever felt he strayed from the right path.
Prabowo stressed, “I ask you not to be loyal to me as an individual. As long as I fight for what is right, I ask for your support. But the moment you sense that I am no longer on the right path, you have my permission to leave me.”
He also reiterated his commitment to defending the people, especially the poor, and upholding the honor of the Indonesian nation.
Prabowo said, “My oath remains: I want to die for the truth. I want to die defending my people, I want to die defending the poor, I want to die defending the honor of the Indonesian nation, and I have no doubts about that.”
