Enhancing Indonesia-France Friendship: Macron-Prabowo Meeting

French President Emmanuel Macron made a significant visit to Indonesia, highlighting the strong partnership between the two countries. He emphasized that the relationship between Indonesia and France goes beyond symbolism, reflecting a true and robust collaboration. President Prabowo Subianto warmly welcomed Macron at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta during his visit.

Macron expressed gratitude for the warm reception and stressed the potential to enhance the strategic alliance between France and Indonesia. He underscored the significance of cooperation in various sectors such as the economy, technology, security, and culture.

The diplomatic ties between Indonesia and France, which have been established for 75 years, have seen notable advancements in the past decade. Macron acknowledged Indonesia’s role in upholding regional stability in the Indo-Pacific region and highlighted progress in mutual defense cooperation, renewable energy, transportation, and the energy transition agenda.

Furthermore, cultural collaboration was a focal point for Macron, with a cultural agreement set to be signed at the Borobudur Temple complex as a symbol of the growing friendship between the two nations. Macron conveyed appreciation to President Prabowo for the gracious welcome and expressed optimism for continued joint endeavors during his two-day official visit to Indonesia.
