Ankara – The friendship between Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was evident following their private meeting in Ankara, Turkey, on Tuesday, July 30.
As Prabowo prepared to depart from the Palace and bid farewell to Erdoğan, the Turkish President personally escorted him to the waiting car outside, motioning forward with his hand.
“This is a privilege for me,” Prabowo remarked as he entered the car and shook hands with Erdoğan.
During the meeting, Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s dedication to strengthening its strategic relationship and partnership with Turkey, particularly in the realms of defense and defense industry cooperation.
“We are committed to bolstering the longstanding friendship between our two nations,” Prabowo stated.
Furthermore, Prabowo emphasized Turkey’s significance as a partner for Indonesia, stressing the importance of both countries building trust and continuously enhancing their military capabilities.
While in Turkey, Prabowo also held meetings with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and various leaders in Turkey’s defense industry.
