Tiga Instrumen Investasi yang Berpotensi Menguntungkan Menurut Analis pada Tahun 2024

Head of Equity Research Mandiri Sekuritas, Adrian Joezer, has mentioned three stock investment instruments that have the potential to generate profits in 2024, which is a political year. “In the coming year (2024) when the Fed stops raising interest rates, investments can be made in instruments such as government bonds, growth stocks, and gold. That can benefit,” said Adrian Joezer at a discussion themed “Investor Strategies for Gaining Profits in a Political Year” at the Capital Market Summit & Expo 2023 event in the Main Hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in Jakarta, on Friday. He stated that high interest rate policies will still prevail for some time, especially the interest rate level in the United States (US). However, entering 2024, there will be favorable opportunities when the US Federal Reserve (the Fed) stops raising interest rates and expectations regarding bond yields start to decline. In addition, long duration assets reflected in stocks such as growth companies, tower companies, and property companies can provide profits next year. In addition, Adrian also mentioned that in 2024, Indonesia’s current account deficit will increase, but from the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) perspective, it will grow to 5.2 percent from 5 percent this year. Meanwhile, the Bank of Indonesia’s (BI) benchmark interest rate or BI 7-Day Reverse Repo Rate is also expected to decrease by 50 basis points starting in May 2024. Currently, BI’s benchmark interest rate is at 6 percent. He stated that with this condition, the tendency for stock investment selection in the fourth quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024 includes consumer staple stocks or consumer basic needs, telecommunications, banking, and commodities. “If we enter the second quarter of 2024 with the calculations still being valid, then investments can be made for long duration assets,” he said.
